Paratico(Bs) |
| |
|
Paratico is situated on the most southern spot on the lake Iseo.
Tourism is incentivated by four comfortable hotels. The historic
centre is extended on a hill and has been more valorised
especially in the last few years, with restaurations of the
ancient habitations and the parish dedicated to Santa Maria
assunta, with the requalification of the park “Ocenlandia” and
the renewed urban look. Alongside the lakesid boulevard you’ll
find ice-cream bars and restaurants. |

Castello Lantieri:
On
a rocky height, one finds the abandoned and dismantled
‘Castello Lantieri’, where in 1311 Dante Alighieri stayed. On
the foot of the castle there are still the remains of ancient
constructions, among which the remains of the chapel dedicated to
S. Carlo Borromeo. |

|
Parrocchiale Santa Maria
Assumma:
In
panoramic position to the lake, with a great view on Sarnico, the
church ‘parrocchiale’ dedicated to a S.Maria Assunta (1700)
with a nice marble altar. |
| |
|
San
Pietro:
Nearby
the graveyard, the small church San Pietro built in the XVII
century. On the inside there is a fresco of the 5th century that
represents the Madonna with Child. |

|
Palazzo Vanzago:
Worthwhile
visiting is the “Complesso Vanzago”, the former castle in
property of the family Lantieri. Destructed by the military forces
of rescia in 1241 that became then a monastery. Attached to the
building that it is today, stands a church with a simple bell towe.
Above the portal out of Sarnico stone there are some evident
frescoes.
