Predore(Bg) |
| |
|
Predore
can be reached from Sarnico through the main road Sebina in
northern direction. Predore is attracted by nature loving
tourists. Countless, in fact, the naturalistic itineraries for
experts as well as for those less experienced. We mention the path
Sentiero Del Corno starting in the centre of Predore, from
the Via degli Ulivi, and taking its course through Mediterranean
vegetation like Oleanders, Rosemary and Cypresses. The route has
beautiful panoramic views to the lake and to the village of
Predore.The
first part of the path passes through private gardens to continue
through pine forests until it reaches the rock wall that climbers
often use for their practising. After the tunnel of the road 469
in the direction of Tavernola, one reaches the road that leads to
the ‘Pozzo glaciale di Predore’ (The ice well of Predore).A
little heavier is the route of 11 km that first reaches the
Santuario della Madonna della Neve of the XV Century (200 m.
s.lm.), from where it is recommended to take a picture of the
panorama below, that takes its course to the village Marasca
Alta until Punta Alta (950 m. s.l.m.). Following the
path number 707 you’ll come to the Colle de Giogo, then
you take the path number 701 in the direction of il Colle
d’Oregia. Once arrived at a hut with water well, the path
turns slightly to the left and takes its course alongside of the
path number 708 to the lower valley. Who prefers to stay at
Predore and enjoy the breeze that comes from the lake, can choose
one of the green fields on the lake side to relax in the sun. The
complex Eurovil has a swimming pool, solarium, discotheque.
The La capanna di Giangy is a ‘bar gelateria’ with platform
on the water. You can arrive here directly by boat. Nearby
possibilities to rent water bikes. For a very special
unforgettable day, you can rent a motor boat and equipment to
practise water sports at “Pezzotti & Cristinelli” a nautical yard
in the near vicinity. Tourism is enhanced also by Hotel Albergo
dell’Angelo and Camping Eurovil.

Parrocchiale:
The
Parrocchiale
is a beautiful exhibition in itself, with an entrance portal
surmounted by a gable sustained by columns. This altogether is in
perfect harmony with its position facing the lake.
Inside the representation of the
Madonna con San Felice da Cantalice. |

San Giorgio:
Just
before the village of Predore one encounters a small tourist port
and church, the Chiesetta romanica di S. Giorgio,
from the XII th Century. It has a squat Bell-tower with two levels
and two bells and was reconstructed in 1983. Many evidences have
been found to confirm that this building already existed in the
Roman era, such as coins, capitals e mosaics. |

San Giovanni
Battista:
In
the ancient centre on the lakeside we find the Chiesa
Arcipresbiteriale S. Giovanni Battista built in the XIV th
Century. The façade towards the lake presents a portal in Sarnico
stones. The inside has one bay and is covered by a roof of
trusses. |

Torre dimezzata:
|
Directly
on the lake we see the Torre Dimezzata of the XII
Century that was part of the
fortification of Predore. Because of
a subsidence of the underlying ground, half of the tower
collapsed. Predore has the sun almost all day and is well equipped
for dining, drinking, sunbathing and relaxing also thanks to the
bars on the lakeside with lawns surrounding them or the very much
visited night clubs.
